Garowe (HOL) - A traditional elder, Omar Abdillaahi Abdi,
was killed in an unidentified airstrike in Badhan district of the Sanaag region
on Saturday afternoon.
According to witnesses and locals, Omar was traveling in his
private vehicle from Ceel-buh district, accompanied by an unidentified man who
had been staying with him for three nights. Both men were killed in the strike,
though the intended target of the attack remains unclear.
Independent reports suggest the man accompanying the elder
had been staying at a hotel in Ceel-buh for the past four nights. Sources
confirmed that the vehicle struck in the airstrike belonged to Elder Omar, a
well-known figure in the area who played a key role in conflict resolution and
matters of public interest.
Authorities have yet to comment on the incident, and it
remains unclear who carried out the strike or who the actual target was.
